Kasen's Story is shared by his mom, Jen Davis.
Kasen was strong, a fighter, and never stopped smiling!
Around three to five months old, Kasen was struggling to gain weight and stopped meeting milestones. We were following him closely with his pediatrician and had been referred to geneticists. They performed many tests on him. At five months old, Kasen was in and out of hospitals. He was a BIG fighter, always smiling at night, whether he was in the hospital or the car. During his visits, we were given the diagnosis of Leigh syndrome/mitochondrial disease. We would go on to do genetic testing.

Over the next two and a half years, my husband and I cherished every minute with Kasen, day and night. So did his grandma and grandpa from both sides, and his cousin, Tristan. Kasen loved watching Cocomelon, snuggling, and watching mom and dad as we gave him kisses, sang him songs, and rocked him to sleep in his room. He also loved when Papa bathed him and brushed his teeth. His smiles lit up the room.
While Kasen is not on this Earth with us anymore, I see and feel him around me all the time. I see him in my dreams and he has the biggest smile. I feel him with me when there are butterflies following me outside, or when we are by the water. My husband and I have sleeve tattoos dedicated to our son, so he can always be with us. Kasen left us to be with God in 2022. Never stop smiling, Mr.Handsome.
